Montreal, Canada February 1st 2016: Justice Human Rights Organization (JHRO), is co-hosting a photo gallery with the Middle-East and North Africa Observatory for Strategic Studies of the University Of Montreal (MENA), in collaboration with Bahrain Center for Human Rights (BCHR), Americans for Democracy and Human Rights in Bahrain (ADHRB), the Bahrain Institute for Rights and Democracy (BIRD) and the European Center for Democracy and Human Rights (ECDHR). The gallery entitled “Bahrain: the missed Valentine” will be held on February 15th 2016 at the University Of Montreal for the fifth anniversary of the Bahraini Uprising of 2011.
JHRO’s Executive Director stated: “We intend to raise awareness, among the students and academic communities, to the deteriorating human rights situation in Bahrain through the displayed images as we take the exhibition across multiple Canadian universities and venues between the fifth anniversary in February and August 2016”.
62 photographs will be on display documenting the chronology of the peaceful uprising of the Bahraini people around the Pearl roundabout monument demanding their legitimate rights to self-determination and freedom as well as the unfortunate ensuing events that unfolded.
During the event, JHRO will give away some memento pieces to symbolize the legitimacy of the Bahraini cause as well as pre-written postcards addressed to Prime-Minister Justin Trudeau urging him to take a firm stand towards the flagrant human rights violations committed in Bahrain by the ruling regime.
