This campaign stems from our humanitarian responsibility in highlighting the human rights violation in Bahrain. A cause that is underrepresented in the international scene for political and economic factors. The Bahrainis have had their right to be part of the Arab Spring robbed from them due to these considerations. The situation keeps getting worse despite the pressure applied by the international Human Rights Organizations and the recommendations presented by the Human Rights Council. With our partners, we hold this campaign to reach individuals, organizations and policy influencers and make them aware of the endless struggle this nation is going through merely for asking for their basic rights. Our mission is to seek justice and freedom for all the prisoners of conscience and to stop the abuse.

The Campaign’s mission

Justice Human Rights and the participating Organizations seek to raise awareness to the reality in Bahrain pertaining to the Human Rights abuses and demand, altogether, to break the wall of silence and apply pressure on governments like the US, Canada and the UK to have a clear applied position in denouncing these violations.

Joint Statement

June 15th 2015 In light of the daily Human Rights violations committed by the Bahraini Authorities and the continuing harassment and detention of the defenders of Human Rights, Justice Human Rights Organization, in collaboration with SALAM for Democracy Human Rights, Bahrain Center for Human Rights, the European-Bahraini Organization for Human Rights and Shia Rights Watch, announces the launch of an awareness campaign touring major Canadian cities. This campaign will highlight the hardships and suffering of the Bahraini people for merely expressing their position towards the regime, and will focus on demanding the release of all prisoners of conscience notably Nabeel Rajab, Abdulhadi Al-Khawaja and Sheikh Ali Salman. Beginning in Montreal on June 23rd 2015, the tour will pass through the provinces of Quebec and Ontario ending on August 31st 2015. It will expose the brutal treatment and abuse through a photo gallery educating the visitors about the history of the Monarchy’s violations since their invasion of the island nation. The partner organizations aim to reach a maximum impact and fulfill their goals through the replication of the experience in the world’s capital cities.

The Campaign's Recommendations:

1- That the UN plays its role in obliging Bahrain to abide by the conventions and treaties as well as implementing the recommendations issued by the Human Rights Council.
2- That all countries with bilateral relations with Bahrain apply pressure on the royal family to consider the people’s demands and aspirations.
3- For Human Rights to be on the list of priorities in the political and economic alliances formed on the international level between nations.
4- To hold accountable, within a transparent process, all those responsible for the human rights abuses by stopping all forms of impunity practices.
5- The unconditional release of all prisoners of conscience and defenders of human rights as well as dropping all the charges against them.
