Justice Human Rights Organization (JHRO): is a Canadian non-for-profit charitable organization founded on the belief of overall human justice and seeks to empower those in need of support to achieve their internationally endorsed social, political and cultural rights.

JHRO offers multiple volunteering/internship opportunities in different areas of the organization’s daily operations from content creation through advocacy writing and journalism to graphic design and video editing as well as development and outreach.
The volunteer/intern will receive training and support from the organization’s staff to facilitate the fulfillment of the delegated tasks.
Available volunteering and internships opportunities are as follows:
Community Development and Outreach Coordinator:
- Coordinating media and public relations efforts and opportunities to promote the organization’s programs
- Cultivating relationships with prospective supporters and individual donors
- Establish communications with decision makers and influencers to arrange meeting and interviews
Requirements:
- Experience working in a non-for-profit environment, preferably in community relations, management and fundraising
- Bilingualism
- Basic knowledge of MS Office applications: Word and Excel
- Demonstrate ability to work efficiently and with flexibility
Content and Research Contributor:
- Write articles, press releases, statements and research essays on specific humanitarian subjects to be included in the organization’s blog and distributed to related media outlets
- Establish & maintain relations with media influencers, columnists and journalists
- Help prepare the periodic reports issued by the organization
Requirements:
- Professional writing skills with an interest in political and humanitarian subjects
- Experience in preparing research papers and articles, preferably on humanitarian and political subject matters
Film maker and video editor:
- Shoot and/or edit videos and films to raise awareness to the causes that the organization is promoting
- Direct the JusticeTUBE Channel project
Requirements:
- An interest in working on film projects pertaining to human rights subjects
- Experience with post production editing
Web Developer:
- Routine and regular maintenance and update of the organization’s website
Requirements:
- Experience working with WordPress
Legal Adviser:
- Provide legal advice and council to the organization
- Oversee the Paralegal and law internship program
Requirements:
- Be a member of the Barreau du Québec
- Experience or interest in Canadian and international Human Rights Law
Project Manager:
- Assist the executive management team to manage and develop the organization’s various projects4
Requirements
- Experience in project management, preferably in a non-for-profit environment
A Researcher in Human Rights:
- Conduct Research on Human rights in Bahrain
- Prepare research papers
Requirements
- Interest in Human rights, particularly in the middle east
- Writing and summarizing skills
